          Description

          Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a member of Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for Engineering Co-ops located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

          Ethicon Endo-Surgery develops and markets advanced medical devices for minimally invasive and open surgical procedures, focusing on procedure-enabling devices for the interventional diagnosis and treatment of conditions in general and bariatric surgery, as well as gastrointestinal health, gynecology and surgical oncology.           As a Co-op at Ethicon Endo-Surgery, you will support projects within the department that you are assigned. There are Supply Chain Operations opportunities in Facilities, Manufacturing, Packaging, and Technical Services. Co-op experience is of varied complexity commensurate with the student's level of experience. The Co-op must follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within the work area, and will work under the direct supervision of a manufacturing engineer.

          The Co-op program is focused on providing college students with practical business experience. It allows them to develop leadership skills, broaden their understanding of the concepts learned in school and obtain industry experience. The Co-op program participants will be better able to apply concepts learned in the classroom and will be able to ask more poignant questions of their professors to further their goals and education.

          The Summer/Fall Co-op is June/July - December 2013.

          Qualifications
          Candidate must be enrolled (not necessarily taking classes) in an accredited college/university and be in good academic standing pursuing at least a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Logistics/Planning/Supply Chain academic majors are preferred. Only students who have completed their freshman year or above will be considered. A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 is preferred. Demonstrated leadership/participation in campus programs and/or community service activities is preferred. Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the Summer/Fall (June/July - December 2013) Co-op is required.

          These Co-op positions are located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Students must be able to provide their own transportation to this location. A stipend will be offered to students that meet the commuting distance eligibility requirements. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require future sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future.
