The Nurse Educator believes that life-long learning and continuing nursing education is essential for the provision of current, safe,
and quality nursing care.� The Nurse Educator provides healthcare educational activities which include issues related to health
promotion, prevention, maintenance, and restoration.� These educational activities may be developed and presented to any of the
following, based upon areas of expertise:� the community, patients/families, Associates, and/or the medical staff.� The Nurse Educator utilizes various methodologies and the nursing process in identifying, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing education
activities.� The Nurse Educator takes into consideration the needs and values of the system/unit, organization's mission, vision, goals,
and resources when planning/developing nursing education activities.� The Nurse Educator functions as a facilitator, change agent,
consultant, researcher, and leader.� The overall goal for the Nurse Educator is to improve the knowledge and skills of nurses and other
allied health practitioners which enable them to provide the highest quality of patient care and the highest environment for patient safety.�����������������������������������������������������������������
Education: - Graduate of an approved school of nursing. - MSN or M.Ed. preferred, BSN required (and equivalent combination of education, training and experience is necessary), and must be in school for Master's within the year. Experience: - Current demonstrated knowledge and skill with 3-5 years experience in areas of responsibility. - Experience in curriculum development and principles of teaching are necessary. Licenses/Certificates: - Licensed and currently registered.
